Southbrook School, Silverstreamers, and Waimakariri Council Staff, join forces at Huria Reserve, Kaiapoi.

On Friday 29 June, a group of Year 7 and 8 students from Southbrook School, planted up approximately 370 plants in Huria Reserve along with some teachers, parents, Silverstream volunteers, and Waimakariri Council staff.

The children were so enthusiastic and made quick work of the planting. There was a bit of healthy competition seeing who could plant the most. They enjoyed the morning; several said they didn’t realise it would be so much fun, and some even thought it would be more fun than the swimming they were going to do next.

It was a great team effort!
